African-Americans should be able to use the intelligence nigger, because it is a term of endearment we use between ourselves. The root ledger is a racial slur once utilize to stigmatize blacks. The intelligence started around the time of slavery, a period where whites owned blacks. They proverb us colored people as less than man, and therefore used us to work for free doing things they did not call for to do. The word nigger has accompanied many beatings, arsons, killings, and other attacks against African-Americans. The word has been used as a joke by whites to disapprove and belittle African-Americans. Weve taken the word back, and turned it into a imperative term of endearment and goodwill.
The meaning of the word nigger is tied up with history, and suffering blacks endured during slavery and after, and that fact should be taught in the frequent school system. The term nigger causes an awkward feeling when used in classrooms that contains African-American students. When reading a piece of lit that contains the word nigger, there is no way to circumvent the negative feelings and tension built up in the classroom between the white and black students. Even if the word isnt being read out loud, to protect our feelings and keep relaxation in the classroom, its meaning is still understood.



Although the meaning of the word still holds power, its a topic we should not unsure away from. It should be discussed so as to remember the sarcastic American history, to remember it was racial justification for slavery.
