Persuasive Essay
Language is a powerful and manipulated flow of words that captures the true and false emotions of raft and objects. Through wording we are able to use it to drag whatever they want. In William Shakespeares play, Julius Caesar, he uses persuasive language to capture the audience. Among all the characters in Julius Caesar, Calphurnia and Brutus persuasive in their protest ways save Antonys persuasive technique is what helped him be one of the rulers in the end.
Even though women are seen as weak, Calphurnia has an effect on Julius Caesar. Calphurnia is very good with omens and tries to tell Caesar that he should not go to the senate. She tells him that natures against him; pointing out the terrible storm they had which persuades Julius barely a little.
Julius tells Decius about what Calphurnia said saying, She ambitiousnesst tonight she saw my statue which, the likes of a fountain with a hundred spouts, did run excellent blood (Julius Caesar 2.2.76-77) After hearing what Calphurnia told him started to question if he should go to the senate. The thing that really swayed Julius from going to the senate was when she knelt to the ground. Calphurnia begged saying your wisdom is consumed in confidence. Do not go forth (Julius Caesar 2.2.49-50). Seeing her plead made him want to stay home. But just as she thought she had him totally convinced to stay home, Decius came and persuaded him otherwise. Saying her dream was a dream of honor, not tragedy. Calphurnia is good at persuading sight but she does not know how to keep them on her side.
