The Roman 12 Tables Vs. The jurisprudence of Hammurabi
In todays society we have a system to bind the people safe and in check, this system is cognise as legal philosophys. Simply put if you do something that society does not permit, you withdraw punished. As laws have evolved to hundreds of thousands of them all over the world. With countries having their have instal of laws some different in e actually country and to their cultures. many have the death penalty and some have fines, it conscionable depends on what went on in the situation. The Code of Hammurabi was the first known fit out of laws in 1780 BC and the second known set of laws were the Roman Twelve Tables in 450 BC. These laws were created in the Mesopotamian era, and they were most successful. These laws argon what we have used to create the laws today, without having the Code of Hammurabi and The Roman Twelve Tables; the rules today could have been completely different. But were these two Codes of law the same? Or where they different in there own time?
The Code of Hammurabi and the Roman Twelve Tables can be compared and contrasted to what I think, are in truth similar views and rules, yet very different. These ciphers of law were created to monitor and protect the societies at hand.
Hammurabis code of laws was created 1330 years before the Roman Twelve Tables. Yet as time in Hammurabis code era, was found off of a religious standpoint and the culture that it was engulfed in. The Roman Twelve Tables were based off of science and their culture, not from a religious view. Hammurabis Codes or laws were very strict yet very successful. If one were to scandalize a Hammurabi Code that person would be punished very harshly, then what we know today as the punishment system. Hammurabis Codes as well as made distinct rules for different types of classes, there for the rights were not impact under Hammurabis Code and was, to me, unfair.
