It was a very quiet moment on the bus ride to boot camp. So quiet, that I could take care my heart beating. It was dark out on the way from the airdrome to Great Lakes or, as others may call it, Great Mistakes. I heard the screeching and the sound of pressurized air as the presence ceased, signaling that I am here. I took a enigmatical breath, waited for my turn to bring on off the bus and took final steps of my civilian life crossing over to another signifier serving in the US Navy.
The first hebdomad that is called P-days in the Navy, I was there sounded from the process of spring upting administered. I was outlet through medical and dental appointments, filling out more than paper work, and getting uniforms issued. I would say this is the worst week in boot camp, because nobody knows anything about what goes on in boot camp. Everything was a blur for me in the process of how everything was in boot camp. I did not know when to write letter back home or how to ask a topping a simple question. I was confused, so I would right wait until I am ordered to do something. At first I was issued sweat pants and white t-shirts. sometimes I saw others that would pass by wearing a uniform for boot camp, and I would wonder when I would get to wear a uniform.
The first night there I did not get the chance to sleep; the next day I was standing in line for four hours to get all my hair cut off. I felt as if my legs were going to collapse for standing so long with pocket-sized to no movement at all. There is a idiomatic expression in the military hurry up and wait which way to hurry up and be waiting. Within the first week, everything was end with processing in, and we picked up and left for the permanent barracks building I was to stay in for the duration of boot camp, ship five-spot CVN-65 USS Theodore Roosevelt.
